My favourite property in Ambleside. Marvellous location on the lake, and 5 minute walk from Ambleside Pier. Also - close to restaurants and the Windermere Ferry boats as well as Ambleside. Lots of food at the lovely and astonishing breakfast.
Not very friendly staff!

Friendly Staff, Very good breakfast, Easy walking distance to numerous pubs, cafe`s, restuarants in Ambleside, Private parking. Very central for touring "The Lake"s", either on foot or by car or bike.
One minor criticism, No shower in the very nice room overlooking the Lake. Or to be specific no shower curtain or hook for the over bath shower attachment which would have been useful.

Staying at Windermere for the Great North Swim June 2011 (it went ahead this year). Hotel ideally located for shops, meals in Ambleside and a 25 minute walk to the start of the swim. A bit pricey but the hotel was clean and well maintained with good full English breakfast and friendly staff. Would definitely stay again.
